Here at Training Qualifications UK, we like to make sure you’re kept aware of all the most important goings-on in the world of End-Point Assessment. With that in mind, this week we provide information about planning and forecasting for the end of the academic year,  the Healthcare Support Worker Standard and Situational Judgment Tests,  among other things.

Planning and forecasting for the end of the academic year

The end of the academic year is fast approaching, and we’re preparing for it by reviewing our pipeline data on Verve EPA. It’s important that the information entered on our Verve EPA System is accurate, including all relevant contact details and estimated EPA dates. EPA dates are critical and help guide forecasting, allocations and internal planning.

As we plan and work towards supporting our centres to prepare for the end of the academic year, we ask that all Providers review the EPA dates given on Verve EPA to ensure they are accurate. Please could this be done by Friday 4th June.

Further to this, as per our previous updates, you will see that Verve EPA now contains a ‘confirmed’ bar, under the Gateway review section.

To facilitate this, our system supplier, EPAPro, currently notifies all Providers 14 days before the estimated Gateway date is due. Again, this is just to review and confirm that the expected EPA date provided is still accurate. If this date has changed, we kindly ask that you update the correct estimated EPA date.

Should you have any questions or require any support in utilising this function, please contact us at epa@tquk.org

Healthcare Support Worker consultation open

The Healthcare Support Worker and Senior Healthcare Support Worker Standards are now due for revision, and the Trailblazer is pleased to announce that a survey has been set up to allow you to comment on the changes.

You can view the Healthcare Support Worker survey by clicking here and the Senior Healthcare Support Worker survey by clicking here.

The consultation opened on Monday 19th April 2021 and will close at 12pm on 2nd June 2021.

Situational Judgment Tests

We have unfortunately had an increase in the number of voided Situational Judgment Tests due to exam conditions being broken. The tests affected are primarily on the Adult and Lead Adult Care Worker Standards. We would like to kindly reiterate the importance of Apprentices adhering to exam conditions to help eliminate exam voids and the subsequent need for a further exam to be sat.

Exam condition guidance is detailed on our website and we also have printable ‘Assessment In Progress’ signs, available to download on Verve EPA.

Our controlled Environment Guidance document is also available in our support tools guidance section of Verve EPA.

Should you have any questions in relation to this, please contact us at assessment@tquk.org

Customer Service Specialist Version change

We have performed a review of the assessment materials relating to the Customer Service Specialist Standard, and we are pleased to announce that a new version of all the assessment materials are now available on Verve EPA.

This version change is accompanied by a Summary of Change, which outlines all the changes that have been implemented. These alterations are primarily focused on additional support and guidance for the Apprentice and do not alter the process of assessment or requirements of the Apprentice. However, there is now the addition of a Project Scope Template and Checklist which is to be completed and submitted at Gateway.

This is designed to support the review and approval of the Work Based Project scope by the appointed End-Point Assessor post-Gateway.

Leader in Adult Care

We are excited to inform you that the resources for Leader in Adult Care (ST0008) are now available on our Verve EPA Suite, should you have Apprentices registered on this Standard. Please access the system to view them.

Children, Young People and Families Standards Survey

Employers within the Trailblazer group are considering the possibility of making changes to the Children, Young People and Families range of Standards. A short survey has been created to allow you to have your say on any updates. The survey closes on Monday 24th May 2021, so be sure to get your thoughts in.

How TQUK Can Help You

The new apprenticeship standards are designed to improve upon what’s gone before and help with the apprentice’s initial journey into their chosen career, before you know it, they’ll be on the road to success.
