Welcome to the first EPA Product Newsletter of 2023! We hope you have had a fabulous start to the year. As we delve into January, we’ve been busy reviewing and amending documents, with several updates to share with you this month.

Changes and Updates to Existing Documents

Apprentice Handbook

This Handbook has been updated to provide additional detail in the ‘use of notes’ section and the ‘applies’ sections.

Training Provider Handbook

Minor updates have been made to this Handbook which is live on EPAPro.

Early Years Practitioner

An amendment regarding the Observation element of this Standard has been added to several documents. This is to provide further clarification. The new text states: The Observation must be carried out within the last three months of the Apprenticeship.

The documents that have been updated are:

  • Apprentice Pack
  • Mapping and Tracking Form – Thematic
  • Mapping and Tracking Form – Duties
  • Written Observation Template and Disclaimer
  • Written Observation Guidance

Senior Healthcare Support Worker and Healthcare Support Worker

Following recent communication from the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, several of our documents across these two Standards have been updated or removed.

Any documents relating to COVID-19 dispensations have been removed, including those that refer to the Reflective Statement.

Documents relating to the Observation element of these standards have been updated as questions must now be asked after the Observation. The documents that have been updated for both standards are:

  • Apprentice Flowchart
  • Apprentice Brief – Observation
  • Overall Apprenticeship Grading

Children, Young People, and Families Standards

The Gateway Meeting Records for the Children, Young People and Families Practitioner and Children, Young People and Families Manager Standards have now been separated into individual documents for either the Community pathway or the Residential pathway. This is to provide you with relevant information regarding the Apprentice’s chosen specialism.

Learning and Development Consultant

A minor amend has been made to this Standard’s Apprentice Pack, this has been done for clarification purposes. This wording relates to the appendices and reads: Appendices are not included in the word count but will be reviewed if they support the main report. This wording was added for clarity.

Each change listed above has a corresponding Summary of the Change document available on EPAPro. Can we please ask you to delete any local copies of the documents mentioned and use the new documents provided.

Assessor Coach – now Learning and Skills Assessor

Learning Mentor – now Learning and Skills Mentor

Teaching Assistant

We are currently producing brand-new resources for these standards, and we will update you as soon as they are ready.

Renaming Resources on EPAPro
