Here at Training Qualifications UK, we have been busy updating EPAPro documents and creating Process Training videos to provide you with helpful resources, including the most up-to-date information, all while listening to Christmas songs (of course).

Summary of Change Updates

Minor updates have been made to some documents you may use within EPAPro. The following standards are affected:

  • Advanced and Creative Hair Professional – Located on EPAPro in the ‘Assessment Practice and Generic Guidance’ Section
  •  Learning and Development Consultant Business Partner – Located on EPAPro in the ‘Generic Forms and Disclaimers’ Section.

If you use or have any of the documents stored locally, please remove these versions and access the new versions provided.

New Gateway Documents – Coming Very Soon!

We are well underway with redesigning the Gateway Meeting Record and Gateway Guidance documents for all our standards.

The two existing Gateway Documents will be replaced by a single document, which will include lots of useful guidance and links and will provide you with access to all the information you will need regarding the Gateway process. These updates will be made in the coming weeks so please look out for the new document on EPAPro. We will also keep you updated via the Summary of Change updates.

Process Training Videos

Like watching videos? We have created Process Training Videos for all our standards that highlight the specific requirements for each individual End-Point Assessment. All the links to these videos are now live on EPAPro under the Support Video Section.

At TQUK, we strive to continuously improve the resources we offer and value your feedback. If you would like to provide us with feedback on these videos, please click this link.

Important updates from The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

Healthcare Standards – Covid 19 Dispensation Update

After an internal review at the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education and with input from Trailblazers and Employers, a decision has been made to remove Covid 19 Dispensation for the following Standards on the 31st December 2022:

  • Healthcare Assistant Practitioner (ST0215)
  • Healthcare Support Worker (ST0216)
  • Senior Healthcare Support Worker (ST0217)

If you wish your Apprentice to continue their End-Point Assessment under the Covid-19 dispensation, they must successfully pass-through Gateway by 31st December 2022.  Any Apprentice who reaches their End-Point Assessment after this date, will be required to undertake the observational requirements outlined within the Apprenticeship Standard.

Learning and Skills Teacher (ST0149) – Subject Specialist Advisor Update

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education have provided clarification regarding the use of a Subject Specialist Advisor

  • Amendment in relation to AP03:

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education has made an amendment to the AP03 version of the Assessment Plan, which includes the following clarification details against the use of a Subject Specialist Advisor:

A subject specialist advisor ‘must have no direct connection with, and be independent of, the apprentice, employer, or training provider. If the EPAO is unable to appoint a subject specialist advisor that meets these requirements, they may appoint a subject specialist advisor from the employer if they have no direct connection with the apprentice or training provider’

  • Clarification in relation to AP02

The amendment has formally been documented on version AP03 but also applies to all live versions of the Assessment Plan.

Therefore, for any apprentices on-programme who are due to be assessed against version AP02, EPAOs can utilise the clarification as set out above in this letter, in relation to the SSA requirements for those assessments.

This is effective immediately.

If you have any questions regarding the above IfATE updates, please contact epasupport@tquk.org.
