Here at Training Qualifications UK, we like to make sure you’re kept aware of all the most important goings-on in the world of End-Point Assessment. With that in mind, this week we provide a reminder about the appeals timeframes, Apprentice certificates and Gateway meeting record forms.
Appeals timeframe
We would like to thank everyone who took part and completed our recent survey in regards to our appeals timeframe. Your feedback is highly valued and we were delighted to see such a positive response to this proposed change.
In light of such positive feedback, we would like to offer an update on the changes we are making to our appeals timeframe.
Currently, we allow four weeks for any appeal submissions. This timeframe commences from the date of receiving an overall End-Point Assessment result.
Our new and more streamlined approach will allow for a period of two weeks for any appeal submissions or intention to appeal requests, following the date of receiving an End-Point Assessment result. If we don’t receive an appeal or an intention to appeal request within this 2 week period, Training Qualifications UK will proceed to certification and the Apprentices certificate will be posted via the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). This will enable all Apprentices to receive their End-Point Assessment Certificate much sooner!
This process change will come into effect from Monday 1st March.
We will keep you all updated as we move closer to this date.
Apprentice consent for claiming an Apprenticeship certificate
From Monday 1st March, our Gateway Meeting records will be updated and modernised. In doing so, we will be altering the way in which we capture Apprentice consent for claiming an Apprenticeship certificate. As of this date, Apprentice consent will be captured on the Gateway Meeting record via a signature.
As above, once an Apprentice then receives their End-Point Assessment result, we will allow a period of two weeks for any appeals or intent to appeal submissions before proceeding to certification via The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
Gateway Meeting Record Forms
In line with our new process changes, we are reviewing our Gateway Meeting records for efficiency. Our new forms are in production and will be available and live on Verve EPA from Monday 1st March!
We will, of course, send a reminder when this document is live.
Assessment Feedback Records
We are always looking for ways of taking your valued feedback onboard. To this effect, we are also currently reviewing the look of our Assessment feedback records, in order to offer a streamlined and efficient way of supporting all Apprentices and of course providing feedback that is relevant.
Watch this space! This project is underway, and we will offer a further and more detailed update on this next week!
Assessor Coach Version Change
Resources for our Assessor Coach standard has had a version change, from version 1 to version 2. Here is a Summary of Change document to confirm the changes made.
Whilst no assessment processes have significantly changed, there is now additional support and guidance available. Alongside this, we have made formatting changes to improve the quality of the Portfolio Mapping and Tracking document.
EPA COVID Delivery Documents for Commis Chef and Hospitality Team Member Standard
Our COVID Delivery documents, outlining all new and approved dispensations, for the Commis Chef and Hospitality Team Member standards have been updated and are now available to view and download on our Verve EPA Suite.
Any further updates made to our COVID Delivery documents will be made available on Verve EPA in due course. We will, of course, update you once any relevant changes have been made.
Short Term SLA Changes
As per our previous correspondence, we would like to thank you all for your understanding and support as we make the following temporary adjustments to our current SLA’s:
- Gateway approval: changed from 24 to 48 hours
- Email responses: changed from 24 to 48 hours
- Completion results: changed from 10 days to 12 days
There are lots of exciting changes going on at TQUK Towers, including expanding our internal EPA Team and investing in new technology that will help us deliver excellent customer service, as well as of course reviewing our processes!
We will revert to our normal SLAs very soon and will supply another update when that happens.
