We here at Training Qualifications UK strive to ensure that all our Training Providers are kept up to date with changes within the sector. We wanted to share a specific update regarding the Children, Young People and Families Manager Apprenticeship Standard.

You may have noticed that the Assessment Plan for this standard has the following wording applied to the Situational Judgement Test: If an apprentice does not turn up to the End-Point Assessment, a fail mark will be recorded”.

After discussion with our regulators, we can confirm that this statement will be upheld for all examinations. Therefore, from Monday 17th May 2021, any Apprentice who fails to give prior notice to cancel the Situational Judgement Test, without a proven medical reason, will receive a Fail mark against the assessment component. This will mean any subsequent assessments will be classed as a resit/retake, resulting in the overall grade being capped at a Pass.

Training Qualifications UK recognises this news may be unexpected. Whilst we manage this process, we would ask you to ensure Apprentices are fully aware of the implications for failure to attend the Situational Judgement Test within this Apprenticeship Standard.

Should you have any queries in relation to this update, please feel free to contact us at epa@tquk.org
