Here at Training Qualifications UK, we like to make sure you’re kept aware of all the most important goings-on in the world of End-Point Assessment. With that in mind, this week we look at updates to our Hair Professional standard, which is now live again, Christmas closures and Verve EPA document restrictions.

Hair Professional

As per the latest government guidance, we are now Live again with our Hair Professional standard. Our End-Point Assessors will be reaching out to all Apprentices that have already been submitted through Gateway to reschedule any bookings that were previously cancelled due to the latest COVID-19 restrictions.

Assessor allocations have now resumed, and as always, Assessors will be allocated within 2 working days of all Gateway evidence being successfully submitted and accepted by the EPA Team, via our VERVE EPA system.

Christmas Closures and EPA SLA’s

We’ll be closing for Christmas at the end of the day (5pm) on Wednesday 23rd December 2020, and re-opening again at 8.30am on Monday 4th January 2021. No staff will be working between these dates.

With these dates in mind, the EPA team will not be available to access their emails during this period, and Gateways and Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) Exams will not be approved or booked.

Our SLA’s referring to ‘working day’ will therefore pause at 5pm on Wednesday 23rd December 2020 and resume at 8.30am on Monday 4th January 2021. This will affect the following SLA’s:

  • Assessor Allocations– All Apprentices that wish to be allocated an Assessor before the Christmas break must be submitted and approved through Gateway by no later than Monday 21st December.
  • EPA Results– Any assessments completed after Wednesday 9th December may not receive results until January. For example, an assessment completed after Wednesday 9th December may not receive their results until the 10th working day, which would be Monday 4th January.

Exams will be available to sit until Tuesday 22nd December 2020. They will start again on Tuesday 5th January 2021, with the first exams being sent out on Monday 4th January 2021.

More information can be found here. If you have any questions in regards to any of the above please get in touch with the EPA team by emailing epa@tquk.org or calling 03333 583 344.

Verve EPA Document Restrictions

Due to quality and compliance reasons we have made a change to the access rights on our VERVE EPA system. Moving forwards, feedback documents and recordings will not be accessible on VERVE EPA.

Relevant feedback documentation to support Apprentices, following the completion of their End-Point Assessment, will be issued as per our usual results process. In which case, all such relevant feedback will be released 10 working days after the final EPA component concludes.

MCQ Exam system

A small reminder from us that our exam system is unfortunately not accessible via tablet or mobile phone, and the link sent by our Assessment team can only be used once.

Therefore, we kindly ask that Apprentices are reminded to only open the link when they are ready to sit their exam.

For any further support or guidance, please contact our Assessment team at assessment@tquk.org

Team Leader/ Supervisor Legacy Standard

Please note that the Marks and Descriptors document is available to view and download on our VERVE EPA system; this is for the Team Leader/ Supervisor Legacy Standard. Support materials also include Competency Interview and Professional Discussion Apprentice briefs.

Learning and Development Practitioner Version 2

The Learning and Development Practitioner Standard has gone through a version change from Version 1 to Version 2.

Support materials on VERVE EPA have been updated. Our summary of change support document can be viewed here.

Due to the relevant changes made, we kindly ask that all documents are re-downloaded directly from VERVE EPA to ensure the most accurate and up to date version is in use at all times.

As always, if you have any questions in relation to the above updates, please feel free to contact us at epa@tquk.org
