Here at Training Qualifications UK, we like to make sure you’re kept aware of all the most important goings-on in the world of End-Point Assessment. With that in mind, we’re reminding you of important information regarding the Teaching Assistant standard.

As per our previous updates, we would like to offer a reminder that the current dispensation detailed below for the Teaching Assistant Standard is due to end on the 30th June 2022.

This means that Apprentices that progress through gateway from 30th June 2022 will be assessed against the original requirements of the End-Point Assessment plan.

Apprentices that progress through gateway prior to June 2022, but have their End-Point Assessment planned from 1st July 2022, will be assessed against the requirements of the original EPA plan.

Therefore, if you would like to use this discretion, Apprentices must be submitted and approved through Gateway by the 3rd May 2022. This is to allow sufficient time to book assessments and complete them.

For tips on getting your Gateway submissions right the first time, and to avoid delays with Gateway rejections, see our support guidance documents and videos on EPA Pro! – alternatively contact us to book a support session at epasupport@tquk.org).

Teaching Assistant   The observation may be replaced by an alternative assessment consisting of a reflective account written by the apprentice and an expert witness statement. The apprentice will then undertake a question-and-answer session of up to 30 minutes with the external assessor.   The dispensation has been extended to be utilised up until 30th June 2022.

If you have requested a ‘face to face’ assessment, we ask that the workplace details are accurate with the postcode of the assessment.

Registrations

As always, we ask that as per the ESFA Funding rules, EPA registrations take place 6 months ahead of any Gateway submissions.

For support with your registrations, please contact us at epasupport@tquk.org

Accurate EPA Dates

This is an Apprentices planned date of Gateway submission. To ensure that we have the correct information, for forecasting purposes, we ask that this information is kept up to date on EPA Pro. This data can be updated within the Apprentices profile page, for example:

Further to this, as per our previous Year End planning update, we understand that the end of the academic year is a busy time for all Providers. Therefore, to ensure we are fully prepared to support you with a larger level of Apprenticeship completions, it is important that this key data remains accurate.

If you have any Apprentices that are required to complete in or before July, please ensure the ‘EPA Date’ provided is accurate for forecasting and planning purposes.

If you have any questions or require any additional support, please contact us epasupport@tquk.org
